An extension to file is not an extension to pay tax.

St. Louis, Missouri imposes a 1% earnings tax on wages and net profits earned in the city, administered by the Collector of Revenue. A business or self-employed filer who needs more time to file the annual earnings tax return (Form E-234) requests an extension using Form E-8. As with Kansas City's parallel earnings tax, the extension is for filing only - payment of the tax due remains required by the original filing deadline.
