An extension to file is not an extension to pay tax.

Wisconsin gives an automatic six-month extension to any taxpayer who has a federal extension, as long as a copy of the federal extension application is attached to the Wisconsin income tax return when it is filed. No separate Wisconsin extension form or application is required. Interest continues to accrue on any unpaid tax during the extension period, and the taxpayer may qualify for a combat-zone or federally-declared-disaster exception from that interest.
